All Bath Types Installed

From a standard alcove bath swap to a freestanding statement piece, we handle the full range. Each type has different plumbing requirements — particularly for waste routing in London's Victorian and flat-conversion stock.

MOST COMMON IN LONDON

Standard Acrylic Bath

Size range: 1500–1700mm

The workhorse of London bathrooms — lightweight, warm to touch, affordable, and available in every size. Most like-for-like replacements use acrylic. Standard 1700×700mm fits most London terrace bathrooms.

Taps: Wall-mounted or deck-mounted taps. Bath/shower mixer common.

£350–£600 supply and fit

P-Shaped / L-Shaped Bath

Size range: 1500–1700mm

Combines a full-size bath at one end with a wider shower area at the other. Popular in London where the bathroom doubles as the only shower room. Requires shower screen or curtain rail.

Taps: Bath/shower mixer tap with riser rail included.

£550–£900 supply and fit

Freestanding Bath

Size range: 1500–1800mm

Statement piece for larger bathrooms. Requires floor-mounted supplies or deck-mounted taps. Requires careful planning for waste run in London's Victorian and Edwardian properties. Cast iron or acrylic.

Taps: Floor-standing or deck-mounted taps. Chrome or brushed nickel.

£700–£1,500 supply and fit

Roll-Top Bath

Size range: 1500–1700mm

A roll-top (slipper bath or double-ended) on ball-and-claw feet. Ideal for period London properties. Can be retrofitted with concealed floor waste and floor-standing taps without disturbing original features.

Taps: Traditional pillar taps or cross-head deck-mounted. Chrome or antique brass.

£800–£2,000 supply and fit

Shower Bath (Screen End)

Size range: 1500–1700mm

A standard bath with a curved screen at the shower end — gives more showering space than a straight bath without the footprint of a P-shape. Common space-saving option in London flats.

Taps: Bath/shower mixer. Folding screen supplied and fitted.

£500–£800 supply and fit

Small Compact Bath

Size range: 1200–1500mm

For London bathroom conversions where space is at a premium — box rooms, under-stair bathrooms, loft conversions. Lengths from 1200mm. Still usable for adults, though not ideal for taller occupants.

Taps: Wall-mounted or deck-mounted mixer.

£380–£650 supply and fit

London Property Types — What Affects Your Bath Installation

💧 London hard water note: Bath panels, silicone seals, and tap surfaces in London properties are all subject to accelerated limescale build-up (280–320 mg/l). We recommend a water softener or descaler unit if your area has particularly high hardness — it extends the life of taps and seals significantly.
Property typeKey consideration for bath installation
Victorian terrace (pre-1914)Floor void access usually available — waste can run below floor to the soil pipe. First-floor installations: confirm joist direction and position before planning freestanding bath with floor waste.
Edwardian semi-detached (1900–1914)Similar to Victorian. Solid floor at ground level common — surface-clipped waste or screed channel needed for ground-floor bathrooms. First floor fine via floor void.
Purpose-built flat (post-1945)Concrete floor throughout — no floor void. Waste run options are limited to screed channel, surface clipping along walls, or using the existing waste route. Critical for freestanding bath planning.
Loft conversion bathroomAccess to drainage can be complex — waste sometimes has to pump up via Saniflo. Confirm fall and soil pipe access before specifying bath position.
Ground floor extensionOften has concrete screed. Freestanding bath not ideal unless planned at build stage with drain in the right position. Standard alcove bath more practical.

Bath Installation FAQs

How much does bath installation cost in London?

Labour-only bath installation costs £280–£500. Supply and fit of a standard acrylic bath with taps and waste is £550–£900. A freestanding bath is £900–£1,500 supply and fit. A P-shaped bath with screen is £650–£900. Full bathroom renovation including bath, basin, toilet, tiling, and flooring costs £4,500–£9,000. Fixed price confirmed after site survey.

How long does bath installation take?

A like-for-like bath swap takes 1 day: remove old bath, make good connections, fit new bath, silicone, test. A freestanding bath takes 1–2 days if the floor waste needs modification. A full bathroom renovation takes 7–10 working days.

Do you supply baths or fit only?

Both. Fit-only: you purchase the bath, we collect and install. Supply and fit: we source from our trade accounts (often cheaper than retail) and install. We can also advise on bath selection for your specific bathroom dimensions before you buy.

Can you install a freestanding bath in a Victorian London terrace?

Yes — Victorian terraces usually have accessible floor voids on upper floors, allowing waste to run below the floor to the soil pipe. The hot and cold supplies need to be run to the floor for floor-mounted taps. We assess the pipework configuration during a site visit before confirming.

My bath is on the first floor — can water leak to the floor below?

A properly installed bath with good silicone joints and a secure waste won't leak. However, silicone degrades after 5–7 years in London's humid conditions, and a wobbly bath (loose cradle or feet) allows water behind the seal. We always level the bath properly, re-silicone, and test for movement before sign-off.

Can I keep my existing tiles when replacing a bath?

Usually yes for like-for-like swaps — standard bath widths (700mm) are consistent. If the new bath is a different height, tiles may need extending. Bath panels will almost always need cutting to the new bath. We assess during the survey and advise on what's reusable.
